The IS, Lexus entry level sporty sedan has been around since the late nineties and has always conveyed what Lexus vehicles were always built for, “Luxury”. The current generation IS is getting on in age as it turns 11 this year. Possibly in its final iteration, Lexus has given the IS a fresh new look available only on the IS 350 variant and available in two grades; F SPORT Design, and F SPORT.
New Look Inside & Out
On the outside, the 2026 IS embraces a sharper front fascia with a gaping grille not dissimilar to that of its brand cousin, the 2026 Toyota Camry. Other visual changes are trim specific with the F SPORT models sporting a redesigned rear spoiler and optional red brake calipers to hammer home the athletic vibe while the F-Sports trim sits on 19-inch lightweight wheels to complete its look.
Step inside and Lexus has gone for a balance of function and flair. A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen now sits at the center, paired with a matching 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster ahead of the driver. Underneath the central screen sits climate control switches and usb charging ports below that. overall, the dashboard and cluster system is a step-up from the previous generation.
Bye Bye To The V8-Welcome V6
With many automakers phasing out big displacement V8 engines, it comes as no surprise that the IS V8 variant is well and truly gone in this face lift. Taking over the mantle of bringing excitement to the IS is a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 that produces 311 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque. Power goes through the rear wheels via an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission while AWD models are equipped with a six-speed automatic. Lexus has also fine-tuned the steering and suspension systems for more linear response and smoother transitions between acceleration, braking, and cornering, giving the IS a sportier edge.
Lexus has yet to release pricing for the 2026 facelift, expected the IS -350 to hit dealerships in early 2026.
