The electrification revolution is truly in full throttle, as another beloved small city car has joins the movement. Enter the all-new 2025 Nissan Micra sporting an entirely new look and electric drivetrain. Now in its sixth generation, the Micra debuts a refreshed and distinctive exterior that blends premium finishes with bold, SUV-inspired attitude.
Stunning Design, Both Inside and Out
The fifth-generation Micra featured an understated design that easily blended in with the crowd. The 2025 shed its grandma persona in favor of a bold, tech inspired design that’s sure to impress the Gen-Z crowd. Take a closer look at the exterior, and it’s clear the sixth-generation Micra share its design DNA with the Renault 5 hatchback, bringing a fresh edge to this compact icon.
Although the new Micra share its chassis with the Renault 5, Nissan has taken a distinct design direction. Departing from the sharp angles of the previous generation, the new model embraces a more rounded, smooth aesthetic reminiscent of a mini cooper.

The front fascia is dominated by distinct dual C-shaped signature daytime running lights with horizontal headlights dividing the lower and upper portion of the daytime running lights. The hood and front bumper showcase clean, rounded lines with minimal creases.
The rounded theme extends to the rear with a pair of circular LED taillights with a striking ring-shaped signature. A horizontal black trim connects both taillights with bold Nissan lettering in the middle.
The interior of the all new Micra takes a big leap forward. A fully digital instrument cluster sits directly behind the steering wheel, and on the side, 10.1” touchscreen infotainment display with Google assistant. Overall, the Micra’s interior is a pleasant place to spend long hours on the road.
Impressive Range In A Crowded City Car Segment.
The new Micra join a crowded yet competitive market of city cars, all jostling for superiority in the segment. To beat the competition, Nissan has equipped the Micra with two battery options, a 40kWh good for 192 miles of range and 52kWh with estimated range of 253 miles according to Nissan. Charging the Micra should be a breeze with its 100 kW DC charging and 80kW for the smaller 40 kWh battery.
Juice from the battery drives one of two motors available. A 120 horsepower motor for the entry level battery capacity and 147 horsepower for the larger 52kWh battery.
This beats out the standard Mini Cooper E, which comes with a 40.7 kWh batter and estimated range of 185 and matches the top of the range Cooper SE with its larger 54.2 kWh capacity. The Micra also beats out the BYD Seagull and Fiat 500 Electric.
The all new Micra goes on sale late this year in Europe. Although Nissan has not specified pricing, we estimate the starting price to be around $33,000(equivalent to around 400,000 Ghanaian cedis).
