For the past few weeks Koenigsegg has teased that something big was on the horizon, the wait is finally over with the introduction of the Koenigsegg Sadair Spear. The Sadair Spear is Koenigsegg’s swansong to the Jesko projects and in celebration of the icon, the Sadair Spear is built to be the most track-focused road car the Swedish manufacturer has ever built. To this effect, the Sadair Spear set an astonishing lap time of 2:55 at Gotland Ring, a new lap record.
According to Koenigsegg, while the Sadair Spear is track focused, it still remains some of its luxurious pieces whiles also shedding up to 35kg of weight. Inside, the Sadair features redesigned carbon fibre seats with the option of a 6-point racing harness ,a minimalist center console and a beautifully design steering wheel worthy of an art museum.
The Sadair maintains the formidable engine that has powered the outgoing Jesko since its inception. The twin-turbo 5.0 Liter V8 engines has received some Sadair specific modification including airflow and cooling and some engine calibration update that increases output to 1,300hp on regular unleaded fuel, and up to 1,625hp on E85 fuel. This newfound power and weight loss regiment means that the Sadair surpasses the iconic Koenigsegg One:1’s power to weight ratio.
With just 30 units expected to be built, the Sadair is already sold-out at a staggering price of 5.17 million US dollars. In a world of hypercars dominated by the Ferrari F80 and McLaren W1, the Koenigsegg Sadair is in a league of its own.
