Mazda has officially unveiled the all-new Mazda6e, marking the return of its iconic mid-sized model as a fully electric vehicle for the European market. Debuting at the Brussels Motor Show, the Mazda 6e is a bold step into the electrified future while paying homage to the heritage of its internal combustion predecessors.
The all new Mazda6e introduces a stylish electric hatchback with a fastback saloon-inspired design mostly seen on high-end luxury vehicles such as, the Porsche Panamera and the Mercedes Benz AMG GT 4-door coupe.
A Modern Take on a Legacy Model
The Mazda 6e builds on the rich legacy of the internal combustion engine-powered Mazda6, which won the hearts of drivers across three generations from 2002 to 2023. This next-generation model reimagines the classic mid-sized sedan with a contemporary twist, emphasizing flowing exterior lines, a sleek cabin design, and Mazda’s renowned driver-focused engineering.

Mazda’s latest creation builds on the renowned Kodo Soul of Motion philosophy. The result is a sleek, flowing exterior with standout features like frameless doors, integrated handles, and glowing signature wing lights that “flutter” during charging.
In profile, its low roofline and coupe-inspired silhouette emphasize sportiness, while the aerodynamic 19-inch five-spoke wheels boost range and visual appeal. At the rear, a horizontal taillight bar complements stylish new Mazda lettering, replacing the traditional badge. Also new to the Mazda 6e is a functional electronically extendable spoiler that adds to the cars aesthetic.
Powertrain and Performance
The Mazda 6e comes with two powertrain options, a standard range and extended range. Powered by a 68.8kWh battery, the standard offers up to 300 miles of range and is powered by an electric motor producing 254 horsepower. Acceleration from 0-62mph is achieved in just 7.6 seconds. With 200kW DC rapid charging, the Mazda 6e can charge from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes, adding 145 miles in a mere 15 minutes.

The extended range delivers up to 345 miles and power comes by way of a 240 -hp electric motor. With a 0-62mph time of 7.8 seconds, acceleration from the extended range is a little slower likely due to the heavier 80kWh battery. Charging from 10% to 80% takes 45 minutes. Both variants feature a rear-wheel-drive layout and produce 236 pounds feet of torque.

Premium, Driver-Centric Interior For A Bold Return
The new Mazda 6e interior is inspired by what Mazda calls the “Ma” concept, a concept that embodies the beauty of space. Mazda has successfully explored every inch of the 6e with a panoramic roof for improved interior ambiance, a floating center console and use of premium materials everywhere. Customers will get the chance to pick one of two tims, Takumi and Takumi Plus trims, with the former fitted with artificial leather while the latter gets luxurious tan Nappa leather.

The interior tech is also impressive, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and an augmented reality head-up display greets the driver upon entry. The Mazda 6e also comes with a 70-litre front trunk due to the absence of internal combustion engine upfront. The auxiliary front storage compliments the 330-litre rear boot space. Overall, the new Mazda 6e is a stylish and functional sedan that is ready to rival the likes of the Tesla Model 3, BMW I4 and the VW ID.7.
